Bastiaan Schrier, born in 1959, is co-founder of Sonnenberg Wealth Management.
He has a long term international track record in private banking and is main shareholder of several asset management and real estate companies.
In 1977, Mr. Schrier started his career in private banking at the Amrobank (now ABN AMRO Bank N.V.) in the Netherlands. Later he moved to the Raiffeisenbank (now Rabobank), where he was responsible for the private client department, until 1985, when he decided to take over the same responsibility at NMB Bank (now ING Bank) in Oostburg (NL).
Two years later, he decided to expand his experience internationally by becoming Vice President of Banque Baumann & Cie. in Luxembourg, where he successfully participated in the establishment and development of a subsidiary company. Over time, he managed to build a very broad network in the financial industry through which he became director and/or board member of several companies in Switzerland and Luxembourg.
In 1997 Mr. Schrier moved to Switzerland, where he continued his career in the Benelux team for market development, new projects and portfolio management at Bank Hofmann in Zurich. After the merger of Bank Leu, Clariden Bank and Bank Hofmann AG into Clariden Leu AG in 2007, he became Director Private Banking at the latter in Zurich. In 2011, Clariden Leu AG was finally fully integrated into Credit Suisse AG, where Mr. Schrier continued his career as Managing Director.
Since 2014, Mr. Schrier he has been fully focusing on his international private clientele as a main shareholding partner of Aquila Florentina Asset Management AG, a company that he founded in the year 1998 and which has strong ties to Sonnenberg Wealth Management.
